What on Earth is this?

real life kaiju

I saw this at work floating in the pool. It had a regular bee tangled in its arms. It’s head looked like a grasshopper, but it had a translucent black and yellow striped ass piece. It was huge and bulky. My brother tried telling me it’s some type of gofer grasshopper or something weird like that ha ha. Either way it’s terrifying, even floating face down in a pool. I snapped the photo with my phone and it was really bright out.

New Art!

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Well not really, but it’s newly finished art. I must say I cannot for the life of me figure out how to snap a decent photo of my stuff because it’s all super shiny (clear coated).

Anyways, check out the new cardboard and frames.

San Diego Fire Maps & Info

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I’ve been using almost every link on this page, they came from here: http://www.topix.com/san-diego/2007/10/san-diego-fire-maps

KPBS and two other talented individuals have created two very good maps of areas effected by the fire. They are currently up to date, but use them with a grain of salt as to accuracy.

Still Blazin’

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

So Southern Cal is really on fire. I have been stalking the info on the web, which is par to that on the news without the repetitive people talking. I have a few pictures of Christy’s cousin’s house she sent us, they are still up there holding it down (safety first!). My mom’s house is in Chula Vista and is pretty close to the Harris Fire. So I’m also sketching out on that. Loved ones in the North, loved ones in the South…what can you do?

Tiff’s pad
Tiff’s house is the one on the left side close to the flames.

I really have no idea what this but it looks scary as all hell.

This weekend

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

yeilded no rain, but I managed to leave the house twice the entire weekend. I painted a bit, finished off a few pieces and some frames. I even broke out the easel, which I NEVER use.

If you have not heard California is on fire. Christy’s cousin Tiff lives out there and I’m super haired looking at the Google map. It is moving at an alarming rate.

More Saturday droplets

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

To my joy another morning turd was welcomed with rain and muggy skies.

I am so out of shape that a few days ago I did 20 push ups and am still sore from shoulder to ribs. Not to mention that by #17 my arms were so shaky I almost dropped myself on my face. The next morning I tried to do 10 and made it 7 with out crying.

Last night while I was at Souplantation I watched a huge lady (she was massive, like a blimp) who noticed I was headed to the strawberry lemonade so she hurried up to get there before me. I watched her fill her cup all the way to the top (like right at the rim). She then took a sip and moved it down a centimeter if lucky and she then filled it back to the rim of the cup. I remain convinced she could’ve done without that sip.

Nothing cracks me up like Dracula ordering two Bloody Mary’s.

My Dad died four months ago yesterday. He visits me in my dreams, with cryptic Lynch like advice. This event has left me sort of empty and thrown me back into the old “bad dreams about Christy” phase.  If it’s not confused and tear ridden then it’s rage and hateful.

Got the white version of Usugrow’s Rebel Ink figure by Secret Base. It’s super mashin’, the sculpt is pretty killer as is the gnarly silk screened back tat (A multi armed skull headed rendition of Virgin Mary that would make any Hispanic lady shake a little).

The War

Friday, October 5th, 2007

A film by Ken Burns is totally depressing. It’s horrible all the feeling and emotions and thoughts going thru my head. Seeing what was a necessary war being turned into the blueprint for this current administrations war plan is quite appalling. For some reason Pearl harbor = 9/11 and Japan = Iraq. It is quite a stretch no? I watched only 3 of the 7 films and was lucky enough to catch the last one.

I became even more sad to think that maybe when our troops come home in the near future nobody will give a shit (people will care, but it ain’t gone be like at the end of the movie, that’s for sure.). I don’t blindly support anything but I feel like a handshake and a thank you is always deserved if you’re in foreign countries doing service. I know our current war is not just but, the soldiers are still human and no human should be faced with such atrocities (especially for an unjust cause). I fight the good fight but it’s stuff like this that makes it tough, how am I supposed to think anything good when humans are capable of such crazyness.

Also Conor you’re a funny guy, we talked all day yesterday and not once did you mention Gran Pappy’s 103rd B-day! My boys grandpa is 103 yesterday folks! REAL TALK.

MONSTER MASHNESS!

You know a CD is good when you can’t find the cover anywhere except for one place with the word “DELETED” written across the cover. Seriously if you find this grab it, it’s full of the bomb diggy monster music (no Monster Mash here!).
